May 2010
The frost last night shows that winter is trying hard to cling on but my crampons have been well and truely swapped for rock shoes already. After a great winter season I headed out to Australia for a couple of months and although melting, managed to get out climbing a few times between seeing family and friends. Nikki, Sam and I stopped off in Thailand for 2 weeks on the way home and had some magic sports climbing on the beaches of Krabi. No photos on Picasa though as my camera was stolen.
Our summer diary is starting to book up already with days arranged for climbing on Ben Nevis and Glen Coe and some wild camping in the Cairngorms all arranged. (All we need is the weather to play ball.) I'm off to Skye for a couple of days scrambling on the ridge this week, so it's more or less guarenteed to rain!
As usual, if ropes and rock aren't your thing we also offer navigation courses, ML refreshers, camping and guided munros. If you don't see what you are looking for......just ask.
September comes to an end
It's been a busy few months for us with lots of trips running throughout Scotland. We've had ML trainnings and assessments, well done to everyone who passed. A few trips along the Aonach Eagach, a few lunches on top of Crowberry Tower on the Buachaile, climbing courses based in the Cairngorms and in Glen Coe. Twice there's been hail showers just as we got to the In Pin on Skye!
Thanks to everyone who's joined us............so far. The next two weeks Scotch on the Rocks is going to be on Skye, Tower Ridge and Poll Dubh, fingers crossed there'll be sunshine somewhere.
At the moment we still have space in October, a perfect time of year to brush up on navigation skills, with the obligatory beer afterwards, and we're also taking bookings for our winter skills courses.

Inverness Undecided
If you're finding it hard to choose then this could be the option for you. Taking advantage of our central location we can be in Glen Coe one day and Torridon the next! Walking, climbing, abseiling, scrambling, navigation….no need to decide now we can discuss our options the night before over a wee dram.

27/12/08 we were in the national newspapers as a featured business in the Scottish Highlands.
Shorter Guided Walks
Last year we introduced leader led day walks in Glencoe and the surrounding area. Due to their popularity, we have included them in our programme for 2009. As well as the more popular hill routes, there are many great walks in and around the Glencoe coires.
If your group, or indeed yourself, would like to be accompanied on a walk by an experienced local leader, give us a call. We can organise transport from a convenient starting point and guarantee an exciting day. To ensure all on the walks get full value from the day, the maximum number in any group is six. The walks will be an alternative to strenuous mountain days and will enable us to appreciate the marvellous mountain scenery around us.
You don’t need to be an experienced hill walker, just have an enthusiastic spirit for the outdoors to join us! All walks are led by experienced team leaders.
